This 750 seat concert hall was designed and built to be shared by the entire Clovis Unified School District (plus the greater Clovis/Fresno community). The hall includes variable reverberation control and an adjustable over-stage canopy to support the wide variety of musical presentations stages each year by the School District's music departments (and by visiting performers).
"Imagine the sound of a single musical note hanging suspended for seconds following the end of a song. One hundred voices soaring five stories high. A 90-piece symphony orchestra with a sound of such clarity it gives patrons goose bumps."
Terry Bradley, Ed.D., Former Superintendent, Clovis Unified School District
"I have been blessed to have worked in several of the architectural and acoustical jewels of the twentieth century... Many, many cities are blessed with excellent concert halls that seat in excess of 2,000 or as few as 200; each of these dreams abou the ideal venue which seats between 700 to 1,100. I have not yet seen such as "ideal" until I had stepped foot and, subsequently, went to listen to two performances (specifically to observe and acoustical qualities) in the new Shanghoian Hall. Both aesthetically and acoustically, this hall is a state-of-the-art gem..."
Maestro Theodore Kuchar, Music Director of the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra, Former Director of the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Ukraine
"In my 30+ years of being a professional conductor, and in that time having had the opportunity to perform in the some of the finest music performance venues both in the United States and around the world, the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall designed by Darden Architects ranks among the very best. Quite literally, it is sheer joy to perform on this stage. From the audience perspective, the sound is no less dazzling. The Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall is a jewel. I hope that I have the pleasure of making music there again."
Dr. Rene Clausen, Professor of Music at Concordia College and Conductor of The Concordia Choir
